Sand Taj Mahal at Incredible India festival in New York
Bhubaneswar, Sept 1 (UNI) Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik is all set to create a Taj Mahal with sand at the Incredible India Festival at New York beginning from September 23.
The Orissa based artist who had so far participated in more than 34 international sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country, has an ambition to create as many as 100 sand Taj Mahals, a 17th century's monument of love recently included in the list of Seven Wonders of the World. He has so far created 35 sand Taj at various places in India and abroad.
The artist's sand Taj Mahal had won the public prize at Berlin festival and now he has to create another Taj Mahal at the Port Authority Bus Station, New York's main bus terminal.
Sudarshan has been invited by the Ministry of Tourism and culture to participate in the festival which will have mega shows of many programmes like Indian song and dance, food and fashion, feel India's incredible energy besides the mini sand Taj Mahal.
The artist said he would use at least seven truck loads of sand to build the Taj Mahal with two of his co-artists. He had earlier created a black Taj Mahal to fulfill the dream of Shahojshan at Agra on the occasion of the 350 year Anniversary of the ''monument of love''.
