Incentives with new booking of landline: Chandraprakash

Panaji, Sep 19 (UNI) State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched new schemes with a view to make the service avaiable at the door-steps of the customers, Maharastra Telecom Circle Chief General Manager Chandraprakash said here today.

He said under the schemes, incentive with new booking of land line, one prepaid mobile SIM and a recharge coupon of Rs 200 will be given as welcome gift. Both the offers are available for a limited period.

Under CellOne Plan 550, respite is given to frequent travellers across the country. BSNL has launched a special plan for post-paid mobile subcribers. Plan 550 is tailor made for customers with an aim to reduce their bill while roaming nationally. Under this plan, a customer has to pay Rs 550 as fixed montly charges and he gets 300 minutes per month free incoming calls while roaming. Beyond 300 minutes, incoming calls will be charged at the rate of Re one per minute.

Also, all the outgoing calls (local and STD), while roaming, are charged at the rate of Re one per minute, which is considerably lower than the usual Rs 1.40/Rs 2.40 per minute for local and STD calls respectively, Mr Chandraprakash added.

He said, under Maharashtra-Goa unlimited scheme, an add-on package of Rs 149 is offered to all BSNL landline customers which allows them to make unlimited free calls to any BSNL landline within Maharashtra and Goa. In addition to this, pulse for calls to BSNL mobile within Maharashtra and Goa has been increased from one minute to three minutes, which means for the same amount, customer can make a call of thrice the duration.

Under the Night Saver Plan, the charges for local calls made from prepaid mobile (Excel) to any BSNL mobile within Maharashtra and Goa have been reduced from 90 paise per minute to 60 paise per minute. There are no hidden charges or addtional fixed monthly charges for this.

In addition to this, both postpaid and prepaid customers will automatically get the benefit of the Night Saver Plan wherein all local calls to BSNL mobile during 2300 hours to 0600 hours are charged at 20 paise per minute.

Highlighting the development plans in Goa, Mr Chandraprakash said WLL technology has been planned in 23 locations. Out of these Altinho, Donapaula, Porvorim, Calangute, Mapusa and Margao are having EV-DO facility wherein data can be transmitted on voice and internet facility at 2 mbps.
