Ganesha idols made of POP allowed to participate in Gaurav awards

Mumbai, Sep 1 (UNI) Mandals having large Ganesha idols and idols made of Plaster of Paris will be permitted to participate in the 'Shree Ganesh Gaurav Awards 2007' organised by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

According to a media release issued by the Mayor Dr Shubha Raul, there was a misunderstanding that mandals that use Plaster of Paris for Ganesha idols will not be permitted to participate in the competition.

The release urged many more mandals to participate in the competition in the coming years.

The release added that an appropriate decision will be taken on the size and material used for making Ganesha idols by the Corporation by next year.
