Youth awarded life sentence on murder charge

Kolhapur, Aug 31 (UNI) A local court here today sentenced to life one youth on murder charges.

The court convicted Vijay Chaugule while acquitting six others in the case.

According to the prosecution, on December 21, 2002, a gang, led by Chaugule, had attacked Rajendra Khandekar at Sambhajinagar here over some monetary dispute. Khandekar had succumbed to his injuries.

Additional sessions judge S P Kulkarani convicted Chaugule and awarded him the life sentence. A total of 34 people stood as witnesses in this case.
