UPHESC (Amendment) Act-2007 in force

Lucknow, Aug 31 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission (Amendment) Act 2007, has been made effective from June 15, 2007 retrospectively.

To bring the Act into effect, amendments had been made in clause 1 of section 4, clause 1 and 6 of section 5 of the original Act.

Besides, it also repeals Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission (Amendment) ordinance, which was passed by the Governor on June 5, 2007.

To provide easy and quick recruitments in recognised colleges and universities, the number of members in the commission had been increased from four to six.

However, their serving period had been squeezed from five to two years, higher education minister Rakeshdhar Tripathi said today.
