Undertrial dies in police custody; 3 cops suspended

Lucknow, Aug 31 (UNI) An undertrial died of severe walloping in police custody at Mirzapur police station of Saharanpur district today.

Sources said, sub-inspector Jile Singh, head constable Tejveer Singh and constable Om Prakash had arrested Saleem, accused in several non bailable warrant cases.

Saleem was beaten black and blue by cops, when he tried to flew the coop.

The brutally wounded was rushed to the Chandigarh Medical Science Institute, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile, the trio policemen were suspended for dereliction of duty.

While, Jile Singh and Tejveer had been arrested and sent to jail, the role of third accused was being investigated.
