Top priority to crushing terrorism : new TN DGP
Chennai, Aug 31 (UNI) The new Director General of Police of Tamil Nadu P Rajendran on assuming office, today said he would accord top priority to crushing terrorism.
In a brief chat with newspersons here, after taking charge from Mr D Mukherjee, who retired this evening on superannuation, the new DGP said he would pay special attention to eradicate the menace of terrorism.
Mr Rajendran, who was heading the Uniformed Services Recruitment Board, belonged to the 1973 batch of the Indian Police Service.
He started his career as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Tuticorin.
He had also served as Joint Superintendent of Police, Vellore, SP of Ramanathapuram West, Madurai North and as Superintedent of Police in the 'Q' Branch.
He also held the post of Additional Director General of Police (Administration) for some time.
