Samastipur, Aug 31 (UNI) State BJP president Radha Mohan Singh today ruled out any threat to the Nitish Kumar government following the six-year suspension of senior JD(U) leader Upendra Kushwaha.

Mr Singh told reporters here that the government was working smoothly and any report of threat to the stability of the NDA government was mere speculation and had nothing to do with the ground reality.

'' Although, the suspension of Mr Kushwaha from the primary membership of the party was an internal matter of the JD(U), there was nothing to be worried over the issue as the relation between the BJP and JD(U) was good enough, a prerequisite to provide the stability to the NDA government, '' he maintained.

'' The NDA government has been working sincerely for the allround development of the state, and the people are solidly behind the Chief Minister, '' he iterated.

Asked on the brutality committed on a youth by police in Bhagalpur recently, Mr Singh said the state government had taken action against the erring policemen, but lamented that the RJD leaders were attempting to "communalise" the entire issue.

Expressing concern over the perennial flood problem in north Bihar, he said implementation of the action plan, chalked out by the previous Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government at the Centre, was the only solution to this menace.

Interlinking of rivers was one of the salient measures suggested in that plan, he pointed out.
