Senior BJP leader Om Prakash Singh detained
Ferozabad, Aug 31 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislature party leader Om Prakash Singh and MLA Yashpal Singh Chauhan were among the 12 party leaders detained in Tundla here today, while proceeding to Agra, which had witnessed violence on Wednesday.
The BJP leaders were taken into police custody at Tundla railway station en route to the Taj city aboard the Lucknow-Mathura Express.
They were kept at the Hazratpur Ordnance Factory guest house.
Later, they boarded Gomti Express for Lucknow.
Reproaching
the
detention,
Mr
Singh
alleged,
''The
Mayawati
regime
has
failed
to
maintain
law
and
order
in
UP.
We
were
not
going
to
Agra
to
disturb
peace,
but
to
meet
victims.
Sadly,
the
Ferozabad
district
administration
danced
to
the
tunes
of
the
BSP
government.''
