SC orders Chanakya cinema owners to handover land to NDMC

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) The Supreme Court today sealed the fate of the prestigeous Chanakya Cinema located in Chanakyapuri here, and directed the owners of the cinema to handover the possession of the land to NDMC latest by December 31, 2007.

A bench comprising Justices Arijeet Pasayat and S H Kapadia dismissed the petitions filed by Aggarwal&Modi Enterprises Pvt Ltd and another against the order of Delhi High Court.

The Delhi High Court dismissed the petitions of the cinema owner challenging NDMC order directing them to handover the possesion of the theatre land to the civic body after the lease was terminated by NDMC.
