Andhra Pradesh: Prisoner dies in central jail

Hyderabad, Aug 31: A prisoner was allegedly killed in a clash with another inmate at Charpalli central jail here today.

The jail authorities said Bhasakar, hailing from Warangal, was imprisoned at Godavari block in the central jail recently. He was beaten up by another inmate two days ago and was severely injured.

Initially he was treated in the jail. As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Osmania hosptial where he was declared brought dead.

The jail authorities were investigating the case.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the victim alleged that the jail authorities had beaten Bhaskar to death.
