'NDTV Good Times' to go on air on Sept 7

New Delhi, Aug 31 (UNI) While announcing the launch of its first lifestyle channel 'NDTV Good Times' today, NDTV today said the new channel will go on air from September seven.

Targetted at ''a largely cosmopolitan, socially upbeat audience who lives in style and enjoys every moment of life'', 'NDTV Good Times', a free-to-air channel, will have on offer for the TV viewers a wide range of aspirational lifestyle programming on health, fashion, food, travel, luxury and more.

'''NDTV Good Times' will target the global, urban Indian who lives in style and savours every moment of life. India is young and increasingly affluent. With money to spend on living better - on leisure, on travel, on eating well and dressing stylishly. on having a good time! Yet strangely enough there is no Indian Lifestyle channel,'' NDTV Lifestyle CEO Smeeta Chakrabarti said.

Speaking on the occasion NDTV Ltd Chairman Prannoy Roy said, ''NDTV is proud to pioneer yet another step in Indian television history. Our new offering, 'NDTV Good Times', will leverage the NDTV Group's proven programming and broadcasting skills in partnership with the admirable lifestyle appeal of the Kingfisher brand. The strength of the Kingfisher brand combined with NDTV's depth will give our new lifestyle channel a distinct edge.'' UB Group Chairman Vijay Mallya said, ''The Kingfisher brand has come to epitomize a lifestyle that encompasses some of the finest things in life and is today synonymous with delivering a premium experience. The 'NDTV Good Times' would leverage from the editorial credibility and quality of the NDTV group and the strong lifestyle appeal of the Kingfisher brand and icon, to offer Indian viewers a world-class television entertainment experience.'' The programming will be presented with style, wit and intelligence by hosts who are experts in their field - well known personalities like Rajat Kapoor of 'Monsoon Wedding' fame, Manju Malhi, said to be Britain 's next Madhur Jaffrey, Tech Guru Rajiv Makhni and Cocktail Queen Shatbhi Basu, among others. Also NDTV's own Arun Thapar of 'Chuppa Rustam' fame and spa queen Devika Anand.

The shows will cover every aspect of the lifestyle genre to portray the essence of an increasingly global India.
