National security will be safeguarded in Indo-US deal-JJ Singh

Jaipur, Aug 31 (UNI) Army Chief General J J Singh today expressed confidence that national security interests would be safeguarded while finalising the Indo US nuclear deal.

Talking to reporters here today Mr Singh said '' I am sure that our national security will be safeguarded''.

The army chief declined to elaborate saying that the Parliament was in session and he is sure that national interests would be appropriately upheld.

Mr Singh arrived here this afternoon on a two day visit. He inaugurated the Jai Jawan Housing Scheme aiming to provide low cost houses to JCOs and other ranks(ORs) in the proximity of the army cantonment.
