Mother throws baby girl in well

Kolkata, Aug 31 (UNI) A mother allegedly killed her 37-day old daughter by throwing her in a well and then went missing at Napara under Baranagar police station in the northern fringe of Kolkata.

The body was recovered yesterday morning, police said.

According to police, the woman's father lodged a diary with the police two days ago after he found his daughter missing along with the month-old baby.

But the woman's mother found the baby's body in the well early this morning. She suspected that her daughter had committed suicide by jumping into the well. But a thorough search revealed only the baby's body.

Police has begun its investigation.
