JE and others booked for lineman's death

Fatehgarh Sahib, Aug 31 (UNI) Police have booked a Junior Engineer (JE), a Lineman and Sub Station Attendant (SSA) in case of death of an Assistant Lineman (ALM) Das Singh.

After an inquiry by Inspector Rajinder Singh Sohal of Police Lines, a case under section 304-A of the IPC was registered against JE Khushial Singh, Lineman Avtar Singh and Sub Station Attendant (SSA) Nahar Singh, who was posted at power grid at village Chourwala of the district.

As per Piyar Kaur, widow of the deceased, the JE had taken her husband Das Singh on the night of July 19 from her residence to repair some fault at Bhag Singh's residence in village Rurki.

She said that her husband, who climbed on an electric poll in presence of other PSEB employees to repair the fault was electrocuted and the body kept hanging on the poll throughout the night.

Sources said that after the Das death, local PSEB officials did not immediately inform the senior officers about the incident.
