Indian forces fight out terrorism--Gen JJ Singh
Jaipur, Aug 31 (UNI) Army Chief General J J Singh today said the security forces were competent enough to fight out terrorism in the country.
Talking to reporters here today, Gen Singh said that terrorism had emerged as a serious challenge globally and all peace loving countries were concerned about eradicating the menace.
He said that India was fully capable of taking on the challenge and countering the threat.
Replying to a question about the demand of the army personnel of a five bold rise in the pay scales, the army chief said that it was not a demand but there was a general expectation among different services regarding due revision in their pay scales.
Accordingly, a joint proposal had been forwarded to the pay commission for consideration.
Gen Singh said that he was sure that service personnel would get a fair deal from the pay commission.
