CPM to watch govt-appointed commtt on Hyde Act
Kolkata, Aug 31(UNI) The CPI(M) will watch the functioning of the Government-appointed Committee to study the implications of the Hyde Act pertaining to the Indo-US nuclear deal, party General Secretary Prakash Karat today said.
"A committee has been formed. Let it start its work and then we will see," he told reporters at the NSC Bose International Airport.
In reply to a question whether the slowdown of implementation of the deal was victory of the Left parties, Mr Karat replied, "this is not a victory or defeat of any side".
The Congress-led UPA Government had accepted the Left demand yesterday to set up a committee to study the objections pertaining to the implications of the Hyde Act on the Indo-US nuclear agreement.
