CBI court defers hearing against Sacha Sauda chief

Ambala, Aug 31 (UNI) Under the direction from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the special CBI Magistrate R.N. Bharati here today deferred the hearing in the cases against Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh and his accomplices to October 4.

The court issued fresh notices to the dera chief to be present on October 4. He is facing two cases of murder and another of sexual exploitation of sadhvis of the dera.

However, the court found Inder Sein and Avtar involved in the journalist Chhaarpati murder case innocent on the basis of CBI chargesheet already filed before the special court.

Now the Dera chief, Dera officials Kishan Lal, Kuldip Singh and Nirmal would be tried under section 302 for murder in the case.

The Baba is also facing charges under section 376 IPC in the case of sexual harassment of a sadhvi.
