Itanagar, Aug 31 (UNI) BJP's women wing in Arunachal Pradesh will launch an agitation to press the Centre for early legislation of a bill for 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state legislative assemblies.

Party sources here today said the decision for the agitation was taken at an executive body meeting held on August 29 under the chairmanship of Morcha national president and MP Kiran Maheshwari.

The Mahila Morcha lambasted the UPA government for its "ill attitude" in initiating the bill in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies despite the 74th Constitutional Amendment.

Expressing concern on the socio-economic condition of women daily wage earners, the Morcha demanded that the government should provide social and maternity benefits to women workers belonging to the lower strata of society by evolving a special provision for economically backward tribal girls and women.

It also demanded a separate judicial system or cell for women to be implemented in the state for safeguarding the integrity and dignity of women.

Resenting the delay in empowering the Panchayati Raj institution fully, the Morcha resolved to take up the matter with the state government immediately, the sources added.
