BHU inks MoU with University at Buffalo
Varanasi, Aug 31 (UNI) The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University at Buffalo (UB) -- the state university of New York (USA) -- to facilitate cooperation in student and faculty exchange programmes, besides broadbasing research activities.
The MoU was signed by BHU Vice-Chancellor Panjab Singh and UB president John B Simpson in New York on August 8, Chairman, BHU Press and Publicity Cell Rajesh Singh informed here yesterday.
''The MoU paves way for establishment of a comprehensive exchange programme between the two world class institutions in recognition of shared interests and to promote educational and scientific cooperation,'' Prof Singh added.
The pact was finalised following the BHU vice-chancellor's visit to three campuses of UB.
The partnership between the two institutions would be mutually beneficial in spheres of joint research, education and other collaborative activities.
Both the universities have agreed to facilitate cooperation between their faculty in teaching, research, publication, organising conferences, seminars and other areas of mutual interests.
The two institutions would also promote exhange and cooperation at the level of faculty, students and senior officials.
UB has expressed interest in developing short term 'study abroad opportunities' for its students at BHU.
