Sandvik bags Rs 565 million contract from CICTPL

Chennai, Aug 30 (UNI) Sandvik Asia Limited, a subsidiary of Swedish-based Sandvik Group has bagged a contract worth Rs 565 million from Chettinad International Coal Terminal Private Limited (CICTPL) for design, supply, erection and commissioning of two ship unloaders.

The unloaders, with outreach of 30 meters and track guage of 20 meters, will each be capable of unloading coal at the rate of 1,750 tonnes from ships per hour upto 80,000 tonnes, a company release said here today.

The terminal will include a jetty with ship unloading facilities, a stockyard system and related conveyor system, it said, adding the machines were scheduled for commissioning by February 2009.
