Punjab to organise camp to clear pending cases of recruitment

Chandigarh, Aug 30 (UNI) The Punjab Government has decided to organise a special camp to clear all pending cases of the dependents of deceased teachers and other employees of the Education Department for recruitment on compassionate grounds.

Stating this here yesterday, Punjab Education Minister Dr Upinderjit Kaur also announced that the government would organise a function on the occasion of Teacher's Day on September 5, at Kapurthala to honour the State Awardee teachers.

The Minister claimed that she had fulfilled the promise made to the teachers to initiate the fresh recruitment and promotion process and to provide jobs on priority basis to the dependents of departmental employees who died in harness. In this regard a special camp would be organised on August 31 at Government Senior Secondary School, Phase 3B-1 SAS Nagar, Mohali to complete the pending cases of beneficiaries.

She advised the genuine beneficiaries to assist the department in completing their cases and submit the required documents to the directorate at the earliest. She further added that directions had been issued to the concerned officers of the department to expedite all backlog cases so that the affected families get the benefit of employment at the earliest.

Reiterating the government's commitment to improve the quality of education and infrastructure in state run schools besides redressing the genuine grievances of the teachers and other employees of the department, the Minister assured that the pending cases for the promotions of Masters, Lecturers, Head Teachers and Principals would be cleared in the coming months.

She added that all the promotion cases had already been summoned by the directorate and both the DPIs had been instructed to initiate the promotion process of teaching and non-teaching faculty.
