Muslims on dharna to demand implementation of Sri Krishna report

Lucknow, Aug 30 (UNI) Two Muslim organisations of Uttar Pradesh today organised a protest to demand the implementation of the Justice Sri Krishna Commission report in Maharashtra.

Members of the Jamat-e-Islami Hind (UP) and People's Democratic Forum organised a dharna outside Vidhan Bhawan here and demanded immediate implementation of the report so that families of those killed in the Mumbai riots of 1993 could get justice.

''The conviction of Mumbai blast accused has shown that India takes terrorism seriously...similarly, the victims of the Mumbai riots should also get justice as the violence was a reaction to the Babri masjid demolition and the Mumbai blasts,'' said Jamat-e-Islami-Hind state president Md. Ahmed.

He claimed that the commission findings also indicated that the riots had a direct link with blasts and the demolition.
