LS cheers victorious Indian Football Team

New Delhi, Aug 30: Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and members today congratulated the Indian team on winning the prestigious Nehru Cup, defeating the ''formidable'' Syrians at the Ambedkar Stadium here yesterday.''The spirited performance by the Indian team led by captain Bhaichung Bhutia will certainly usher in a new era in the Indian Football,'' Mr Chatterjee said during zero hour.

He said the Indian football team had made the nation proud when they lifted the Nehru Cup.

''It is a historic win,'' the Speaker said, while wishing the team great success in their future matches.
