Kar Govt to spend Rs 50 crores in 10 years to develop imp places
Bangalore, Aug 30 (UNI) Karnataka Government will spend Rs 50 crores in next one decade to ensure overall development of Bada village and Kaginele, places where Saint Kanakadasa was born and brought up, and surrounding historical places.
Announcing this to newsmen here Agriculture Minister Bandeppa Kashempur and Water Resources Minister K S Eswarappa said the Kaginele Development Authority, headed by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, held its first meeting on August 24 and decided to take up various works such as providing road links, main entrance, construction of an artistic style temple near the saint's memorial and a research centre.
They said the services of Archaeological Survey of India would be enlisted to take up excavation at Bada village, where he was born.
The other places enlisted for development, among others, were Kummuru, Ingalgondi and Kadaramandalagi. The government had approved Rs 6.53 crores during this year to take up various works in the area, they added.
