Srinagar, Aug 30 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone today deferred the tabling of a copy of the annual report 2005-06 of the State Commission for Backward Classes in the House.

This was done as there were not enough copies to be given to the members of the House.

Earlier, Social Welfare Minister Haji Nisar Ali rose to lay on the table of the House a copy of the annual report 2005-06 (gist) of the State Commission for Backward Classes.

However, the opposition members were soon on their feet, demanding the copy of the report and not the gist.

The Minister said he did not have enough copies of the report to be presented to each member of the House. He sought one month's time in doing so.

Unsatisfied, the Deputy Speaker deferred the tabling of the copy.

''I am of the opinion that the report should not be tabled in the House as there are not enough copies with the Minister,'' he ruled.
