JCO attacked at airport residential quarters
Chennai, Aug 30 (UNI) A Junior Commandant Officer (JCO), attached to the Bomb Detection Squad coming under the control of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, was attacked with a knife by his colleague at the residential quarters inside the airport complex here late last night.
Airport sources said JCO Vijayakumar (45) was coming to his residential quarters after a walk, when Arumugham (45), Head Constable, attacked him with a knife, alleging that the JCO was behind his transfer to Delhi.
Vijayakumar sustained cut injuries below his right knee and was treated as out-patient at the Chromepet Government Hospital.
On hearing the cries of Vijayakumar, people in the quarters nabbed Arumugham and handed him over to the airport police.
There had been differences of opinion between the two and Arumugham was under suspension for the last eight months. A couple of days back, the suspension was revoked and Arumugham was transferred to Delhi.
