Kolkata, Aug 30 (UNI) Infrastructure cooperation, specially in the areas of building of roads, power generation and distribution are of utmost necessity to enhance Indo-Bangla trade.

This was observed here today by Mr Shawkat Ali Warresi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh, while interacting with members of the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BNCCI).

A Bangladesh delegation, led by Mr Waressi, was now visiting Delhi, Kolkata and other important cities of the country to explore the possibilities of enhancing volume of trade between India and Bangladesh.

Mr Waressi said tapping of water resources and sharing of the same and joint flood control measures were also important areas of cooperation which should be exploited for increasing the bilateral trade.

'' Focus should also be given on development of tourism, creation of tourism-related infrastructure and extension of communication facilities between the two countries, '' he said.

Mr Waressi said if the present trend in the bilateral trade continued for quite sometime, the balance of trade between the two countries might reach to a respectable position.
