IDL launches international operations in Mumbai
Mumbai, Aug 30 (UNI) International Diamond Laboratories (IDL) is launching its international operations at the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), that will be on in Mumbai from today till September 3.
The new global certification service for diamonds will use the platform to unveil its innovative technology that allows scientifically based and consistent diamond grading.
Speaking to reporters today, IDL Chief Executive Officer Peter Meeus said, ''The choice to launch International Diamond Laboratories in Mumbai underlines the importance of India in the diamond business. We are excited to present our products first to the world's leading manufacturing center and the world's fastest growing retail market.'' IDL has chosen the lotus flower as its corporate symbol. Diamond grading is unfolding the characteristics of the stone. At each step, its real identity becomes clearer.
''IDL is focusing particularly on the emerging markets of Asia and West Asia, who have marked double digit growth in diamond jewellery sales in recent years. By making its services available to the world's third (India) and fourth (West Asia) largest diamond consumption markets with strong economic growth and a rapidly developing middle class, IDL aims at pushing the demand for diamond jewellery in the future even more,'' Mr Meeus added.
''IDL will operate in the leading diamond centers of Antwerp (Belgium), Dubai (UAE) and Mumbai (India),'' Mr Meeus informed.
