Four from TN to participate in International Abilympics

Chennai, Aug 30 (UNI) Four physically challenged people from Tamil Nadu will participate in the International Abilympics to be held in Japan from November 11 to 20 this year.

Director of Vidyasagar, a voluntary organisation, Rajul Padmanabhan told reporters today that the four had won gold medals in the national championship held in New Delhi.

The winners were: E Mohan from Ranipet in English Desk top Publishing, Senthil Kumar of Vellore in English Text processing and P Saikrishnan (Chennai) and T Harishanthan (Kotagiri) in Photography.

Vidaysagar was associated with the National Abilympics Association of India. Abilympics is the Olympics for physically disabled vocational skills.

The Union Ministry of Social Justice Empowerment Meira Kumar had approved 75 per cent of the total expenses. She urged people to help the organisation in raising money to meet the expenses of the four.
