EC sends three teams of observers for by-elections

New Delhi, Aug 30 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) has deputed separate teams of two officers each to monitor the polling process in each of the three constituencies where by-elections will be held tomorrow.

According to EC sources, these teams were being sent to Farrukhabud, Gunnaur and Suar Tanda in Uttar Pradesh. The commission had already sent six observers to monitor the election and polling process in these constituencies.

On the advice of the EC, the state government has deployed 32 companies of para military forces to ensure hundred per cent coverage.

The Commission has deployed additionally 100 micro observers on static duties.

The Commission has initiated these steps to ensure free and fair polls while ensuring 100 per cent participation from the electorate, the sources added.
