Shimla, Aug 30 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh CPI(M) today demanded immediate compensation of Rs five lakh to the family of the boy, Dinesh, who died here yesterday in an ambulance with the Congress and BJP workers fighting it out among themselves on the roads of the town.

Cases should be registered against the leaders of both the BJP and the Congress and investigations under section 302 of the IPC carried out against them, party's state secretariat member Tikender Singh Panwar said in a release here.

He said action should also be taken against police and the district administration officials for failing to ensure that the ambulance ferrying the boy was allowed to pass the rally venue.

Criticising the district administration, Mr Panwar said two different set of parameters were being adopted by it for allowing of rallies outside the Vidhan Sabha.

While majority of the organisations were not allowed to cross the Kennedy Chowk, the Congress party was allowed to hold a rally on the restricted part of the road, he said.

He said the CPM was not allowed to hold a rally just outside the Vidhan Sabha despite having a written permission from the district administration, while the Congress rally, which began at 0930 hrs, continued till 1530 hrs.

Demanding strict action against people responsible for causing the death of the boy, Mr Panwar said it would approach the state high court unless cases were registered against them.
