CM asks politicians to keep away from land acquisition deals

Hyderabad, Aug 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said politicians should keep away from the matters relating to land acquisition for irrigation projects.

Reviewing the various irrigation projects of Telangana region with officials concerned here, he said the relief and rehabilitation package for the people, whose lands were acquired for irrigation projects, were very good.

He asked the Joint Collector, Adilabad District and Special Collector in-charge of land acquisitions for irrigation projects in Telangana region to speed up the process and handover the lands to the irrigation department.

Dr Reddy said the engineers concerned in the irrigation department would be given two years extension if they complete their projects on time and their performances were found good.
