BSP threatens state-wide protests over Gohana murder

Ambala, Aug 30 (UNI) The Bahujan Samaj Party today threatened to launch a state-wide agitation if the Police failed to arrest the killers of a Dalit youth of Gohana in Sonipat distict.

The BSP General Secretary and Haryana Incharge Mann Singh Manhera, while addressing the party workers here, also demanded that the case should be handed over to CBI for probe.

He said that the state executive committee meeting would be held at Rohtak tomorrow to review the situation.

In case, the assailants were not nabbed, future course of action would decided in the meeting, he said, adding that the party would be forced to take harsh measures if no satisfactory progress was made in the case.

Meanwhile, agitated Dalits led by leaders from National Conference of Dalit Organisation, Dalit Jan Kalyan Samiti, Balmiki Sabha Naraingarh, Adi Dharam Samaj and Haryana Dalit Mahasabha, held a demonstration here demanding immediate arrest of the killers of Rakesh alias Lara on August 27.

Marching through the main bazaars here, the demonstrators reached the SDM Office to hand over a memorandum addressed to the Haryana Governor.

The memorandum demanded that the killers of Balmiki youth Lara, who were roaming about freely, should be arrested immediately and a CBI probe ordered into the incident.

It also alleged that the law and order had failed in the state and it should be brought under President's rule.

It also demanded that all cases registered against the Dalits during agitation after Lara's murder should also be withdrawn.
