Bomb hoax at school in Puducherry

Puducherry, Aug 30: An anonymous phone call about a bomb being planted at the primary section of a private school at Ouppalam here proved to be a hoax today.

Police said the school received the call this morning, threatening that a bomb would explode in the school any time. The school authorities immediately informed the police, who rushed to the spot.

After moving all the students to the playground, the bomb detection squad, along with sniffer dogs, conducted a thorough check.

However, the search did not yield any explosive material.

Following the threat, the school management declared a holiday for the day.
