BJP, SAD MPs, visit Gohana; demand CBI probe
Panipat, Aug 30 (UNI) A BJP-SAD delegation of MPs today demanded a CBI inquiry into the killing of dalit leader Rakesh Lara by unidentified assailants at Gohana in Sonepat district recently.
The delegation, which visited Gohana today, also demanded a compensation of Rs eleven lakh and government jobs for the dependents of Lara, former Haryana BJP President Rattan Lal Kataria said while talking to media persons at the local BJP office here. Mr Kataria had accompanied the delegation to Gohana.
The delegation condemned the incident and would raise this issue in the Lok Sabha, he said, alleging that crime had steadily increased and lawlessness prevailed ever since the Congress Government came to power in the state. The MPs would also meet the Prime Minister in this regard, he said.
The delegation comprised Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Charanjeet Singh Atwal and Mr Avinash Rai Khoona, Mr Krishan Lal Dalel, Ms Parmjeet Kaur and Mr Narain Singh Kesari, all MPs.
BJP SC Cell President Satya Narain Jatia, former MP Ram Nath Gobind and former SCST Commission Chairman Kanwar Singh were among the delegation members.
