13 artists to be conferred Lalit Kala Ratna awards

New Delhi, Aug 30 (UNI) Artists Bal Chhabda, B N Arya and Devi Prasad will be among 13 artists of eminence to be honoured the Lalit Kala Ratna awards in recognition of their contribution to art.

The awards will be conferred to them on September 10 by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee at a function here. Culture Minister Ambika Soni will preside over the function.

The other winners are Dinkar Kowshik (Bengal), K Rajaiah(Andhra Pradesh), Piraji Sagara (Gujarat), P N Choyal (Rajasthan), Laxman Pal (Delhi), Sobha Brahma (Assam), Kekoo Gandhy(Mumbai), Krishna Reddy (New York), L Munuswamy (Tamil Nadu) and M V Krishnan (Kerala).

A portfolio containing the works of the artists will be released on the occasion.

A flute recital will presented by Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Sunil Avachat at the function.
