YC team submit memorandum to PCC president to revamp orgn
Puducherry, Aug 29 (UNI) A Youth Congress delegation today called on PCC president P Shanmugham and submitted a memorandum seeking his intervention to revamp the organisation.
In the memorandum signed by former vice-president and councillor Rajan, secretary Balaji, former general secretary Saravanan and former secretary Vinod, they pointed out that the incumbent Youth Congress president Pandiyan was functioning in a whimsy manner and not giving due respect to office-bearers of party.
They urged Mr Shanmugham to intervene and take steps for setting up of a committee for the enrollment of new members.
Later, talking to newspersons, YC leaders said they have sought the removal of Pandiyan from the Youth Congress President's post.
Blaming the top leaders of the Youth Congress responsible for the violence in yesterday's meeting to enroll new membership, they said the leadership was informed of the prevailing situation in the party unit here.
As there was no move from the leadership to set things right and they should shoulder the responsibility for yesterday's ugly incident, the YC leaders said.
The meeting, participated by national president Ashok Tanver, secretary Chandan Yadav and secretary Deepti Mary Varghese yesterday was marred by violence when a section of workers raised slogans against YC local unit president Pandiyan.
