Woman injured in cell phone battery explosion in city

Kolkata, Aug 29 (UNI) A woman was injured when her mobile phone battery exploded in South 24 Parganas this evening.

Kishori Saha, a resident of Ganguly bagan in South 24 Parganas, received minor injuries on her face and neck when her cell battery of Nokia's BL D-3 series exploded.

Several incidents of explosion of Nokia cell batteries had been reported in various parts of the country recently. However, the batteries were of the BL 5C series.

Jadavpur police control room has, however, refused to give any statement saying, ''No FIR has been lodged at our police station in this regard.'' UNI LL KK KLC1944
