SP, RJD MPs force LS adjournment on Agra, Bhagalpur incidents
New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) Samajwadi Party and RJD MPs today forced the adjournment of the Lok Sabha for half-an-hour till 1230 hrs on the Agra and Bhagalpur incidents.
Slogan shouting SP members rushed to the well of the House as soon as the Question Hour was over, protesting against the Agra incident this morning, while RJD members were voicing their concern over the beating up of a gold chain snatcher by police publicly in Bhagalpur yesterday.
Sensing the mood of the MPs, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the House till 1230 hrs.
Indefinite curfew was imposed in six police station areas in Agra city this morning following violence after four youths of a particular community were crushed to death in a road accident.
About 30 people including an ADM rank officer along with some mediapersons were injured in the brickbatting indulged by the mob.
Police had to use mild lathicharge to disperse the mob who showered stones on the securitymen.
Police also resorted to fire in the air in the communally sensitive Mantola and Tajganj areas to control the situation.
However, no one was injured in the police firing.
