Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Judge suspended

Pune, Aug 29 (UNI) Controversial Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Judge P L Amle was suspended today by the Bombay High Court with immediate effect.

Judge Amle, who was to retire from service after five years, came under the scanner for his controversial decision against the PCMC Commissioner, who had failed to be present in court for a hearing on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed against the Corporation over repair of potholes. Subsequently, the PCMC lost the case, sources close to PCMC said here today.

Mr Amle was served the order of the High Court at around 1230 hrs here.
