Malleswari unveils Arjuna replica on Sports Day at NIS

Patiala, Aug 29 (UNI) The National Sports Day was celebrated here today at the NIS with great enthusiasm.

A hockey match and fun games, including tug-of-war were organized on the occasion.

A large-size replica of Arjuna was unveiled on the campus of the NIS by Arjuna awardee and Sydney Olympics 2000 bronze medallist in weightlifting, Karnam Malleswari, before a large gathering of national coaches, sports administrators and elite sportspersons.

National Sports Day is celebrated throughout the country today, coinciding with the birth anniversary of 'hockey wizard' Dhyan Chand.
