Kalam asks youth to work towards realisation of his dream
Ahmedabad, Aug 29 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today called upon the youth to work towards realisation of his dream project of a developed India by 2020.
Addressing a huge gathering of youth after visiting the Swaminarayan temple here, Mr Kalam said ''To achieve the vision of a develped India, we have to concentrate on many fields, wherein the participation by the young talent is the most powerful resource.'' In order to achieve this project, he said ''We have to bridge the gap between rural and urban India. Sectors like agriculture, industry and services should progress simultaneously, providing education to all, best possible medical help and transparent and corruption-free governance. Poverty should be eradicated and crimes against females and children should be effectively addressed.'' The former President said a good environment generates great thoughts which generate creativity. He advised the youth to be creative, righteous and educative.
He also exhorted the youth to pledge that ''As a youth of nation, I will work with courage to build the nation and succeed in all my missions.'' He asked the youth of Swaminarayan to keep their home, city, State and nation clean. This will help billion minds of the nation to be clean, as clean minds help honest life free of corruption and sets an example of righteousness and lights the lamp for others.
Sharing his Delhi-based Akshardham Temple experience, Mr Kalam said when one enters Akshardham, one feels like entering one's own home, while leaving the place one feels one is being separated from one's own mother 'Bharatmata'.
He also appreciated the efforts of Pramukh Swami Maharaj for inspiring the thousands of people across India and abroad.
