HP BSP chief willing to reveal facts of Bali birthday bash

Dharamshala, Aug 29 (UNI) President of the Himachal Pradesh unit of the BSP Balwant Singh today offered to depose before the one member O P Garg Committee appointed by the state High Court to probe into the birthday party of former Transport and Tourism Minister G S Bali.

Mr Singh was addressing a press conference here after he presiding over a day long meeting of the party functionaries here today.

If the O P Garg Committee called him for deposing before it he would speak the truth.

This shameful incident was a blot on the Congress party and people of this state were forced to bow their heads with shame following this incident, he said.

He said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has allegedly exposed Mr Bali through this episode.

The BSP president said the BSP was launching an agitation both at sub-divisional and district level against the alleged anganwari appointment scam and ''undemocratic activities'' of the Congress Government in the state.

He deplored the Congress Government for not including the economically poor in the IRDP category under the Antodaya Scheme while economically well off people close to the politicians of the ruling party were included in the category.

Mr Singh criticised the Chief Minister for ignoring the victims of the natural calamities through out the state except his own Rohru constituency.

He alleged that he only visited Rohru area after the natural catastrophe and did not visit any other part of the state which were also affected by the floods.

He also expressed hope that the BSP would prove the only alternative to both the Congress and BJP in the state.

Earlier, office bearers of the party from all the 16 assembly constituencies held a meeting here.
