DVAC raids residence of former AIADMK minister

Chennai, Aug 29 (UNI) Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau today conducted raids at the residence of former AIADMK minister B Valarmathi and her family members.

Official sources told UNI here that the raids followed complaints that Ms Valarmathi had amassed wealth disproportionate to her known sources of income.

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted raids at Ms Valarmathi's residence at K K Nagar in the city and at the residences of her family members in suburban Pallavaram and Madambakkam near Tambaram.

The raids, which began around 0800 hrs, were still ON.
