Bandh in Bhaderwah town throws life out of gear

Doda, Aug 29 (UNI) Normal life was paralysed during day-long bandh which was observed by several Hindu organisations protesting yesterday's blast in Laxmi Narayan Temple, heart of the city of Bhaderwah in Doda district.

The bandh was called Hindu Sanatam Dharam Sabha and other organisations as a protest against the police and alleged civil administration.

Angry protesters burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against the police as well as other defence agencies.

The protester alleged that the administration had failed to protect the common masses as well as the holy places from militant attacks.

The incident followed the blast which occurred inside the historical Laxmi Nayaran temple at Seri Bazar late last evening in Bhaderwah town, which caused minor damage on the wall of the holy temple.

A similar blast had occurred in a hotel in which six persons were injured in the same area.

People are demanding a high level enquiry of both the incidents.

The protest was supported by other political and social rganisations.
