3-day hunger strike by Jan Parivahan Bachao Morcha against accide
New Delhi, Aug 29 (UNI) The Jan Parivahan Bachao Morcha today began its three-day 'dharna' and hunger strike to oppose the government's callous attitude towards recurring road accidents in the city.
The accidents, said the 'Morcha' were mainly due to the profiteering motive of the private bus operators in the capital.
Demanding that a safe, clean and cheap transport system be put in place, it said the government was equally responsible for the 'deaths on roads' as it had failed to check reckless driving by private bus operators.
Activists from various trade unions, activists and family members of bus accident victims participated in the 'dharna'.
