Village sarpanch and five others attack shopkeeper

Kapurthala Aug 28 (UNI) Police today registered a criminal case against six people, including the sarpanch of Innowal village, for allegedly attacking a shopkeer with swords and seriously injuring him in the attack.

According to police, the shopkeeper, Pritam Singh, who was running a general store in Innowal village, was sitting in his shop when the village Sarpanch Mohinder Singh, his son Varinderpal Singh and four others attacked him becuase of old enemity.

The injured has been admitted in the local civil hospital and is stated to be out of danger.

Police has registered a case under sections 325, 323, 148 and 149 of the IPC against the accused. However no arrest has been made in this case.
