TDP chief's demand childish: APCC Chief

Hyderabad, Aug 28 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Congress Committeee (APCC) President K Keshava Rao today termed the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu's demand for the resignation of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on the recent twin bomb blasts in the city 'childish'.

Talking to the media here, he said Mr Naidu's primary concern was to politicise the incident instead of showing sympathy to the victims.

While expressing his happiness over the opposition parties solidarity with the government and their valuable suggestions, he said the TDP, which agreed to attend the all party peace meeting yesterday, did not turn up clearly showing how concerned they were for people's welfare.

The government had convened the meeting to express solidary with the blast victims cutting across party lines while the TDP was trying to politicise the issue.

The state government had agreed to most of the suggestions made by the Opposition on the measures to contain terrorism in the state.

Referring to Mr Naidu's anger on Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) officials for not allotting rooms in one place for his family members who went on pilgrimage yesterday, the APCC President said ''it is a silly matter. As a Former Chief Minister he should know better. I leave it to his wisdom.'' UNI BR GM AKJ BD1605
