Sugar prices rise again owing to lower stocks

Navi Mumbai, Aug 28 (UNI) Sugar prices today rallied further on good seasonal bulk consumers demand and less stock arrivals from co-operative mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market said.

Sugar in small and medium grades hiked modestly by Rs 15 and Rs ten per quintal on reduced offers by stockists.

Ex-mill small and medium grades also rose again by Rs 20 per quintal each on renewed demand from millers.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,315/1,366, Medium grade: Rs 1,365/1,460.

Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,280/1,330, Medium grade: Rs 1,320/1,425.
